Welcome at Jilin City

Ice-rimed trees at Jilin City

The ice-rimed trees at Jilin City are one of the four natural wonders of China.

It is a result of water vapor rises up from the warm Songhua River to meet the cold -20 °C night air, causing the crystalisation of water vapour on willows branches. The phenomenon occurs every year during Januari and Februari.

Some other attractions in Jilin City are the Meteorite Museum, with the largest stony meteorite of a documented meteorite fall, the North Hill Park (North-West of Jilin), the Dragon Pool Mountain Park, and Songhua Lake, which is to be found South-East of Jilin.

The three other natural wonder are the Guilin Mountains and Streams, the Yunnan Stone Forest, and the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River.
